Who investigated Dreams Scientifically?

Dreams are the result of mental activity during sleep. Dreams appear in the sequence of vivid images, often fragmentary and disconnected. These may or may not be retained upon waking.

Sigmund Freud
Dreams evoked curiosity of interest from very early days of man's history. The scientific studies of dreams were first made by Alfred Adler ,C.G Jung and Sigmund Freud (1856-1839).The most important contribution was that of Freud. His book "The Interpretation of Dreams "published in 1899 is a  classic in psychological research on dreams.

Freud interpreted all dreams all dreams as the expression of unconscious desires and their satisfaction.According to him ,in Dreams these emerge in the conscious mind, usually symbolically, passing the censorship of the preconscious .
